Ughhh Wallpaper Removal & Wedding Plan Update

Brian and I are in the midst of cleaning, painting and doing some updating to his house in preparation for me moving in. For Memorial Weekend we attacked his kitchen. While it is a somewhat normal sized space it is very poorly laid out and has some very old very worn out wallpaper on the walls. The layout we can't do much with at this point. But the wallpaper had to go. What a horrible miserable project. Brian, bless his heart had been working for the 3 weeks before at taking it down and had made some great progress. Saturday we worked on removing what was left mostly behind the fridge/stove wall. Ughhh!!!!!!! There were so many different combinations of wallpaper layers, paint layers and unfinished wallboard.

But the best part was that when we pulled the stove out we discovered that we could actually change the location of the stove by 45 deg and open up some much needed cabinet and counter space. Whoo hoo!!!!! So after putting up a couple coats of primer and the 1st coat of wall color we went to Jerry's and bought our first cabinet for the area. I can't wait to see it in place.

The wedding plans are moving along pretty smoothly now. I went last week and met with the seamstress that is going to alter my dress. It was fun to put it on again. I do really love it and can't wait to show it off. Brian still has not seen it nor knows what it looks like.

Last weekend when I was in Springfield, I got to meet Jamie his roommate from college and best man for the wedding. What a nice man. Brian, Jamie and David, one of my co workers, we all roommates in college. Of course we didn't figure out the David connection until last fall. It still amazes me at what a small world it is.

So my big search now for the wedding is a cake topper. I have looked at some many and have yet to find a single one that I like. Most seem so cheesy or to young for Brian and I. I am starting to wonder if it would be in bad taste if I went without one???

Hey, Merianne. We didn't have a topper, just cascades of flowers and it was lovely.
