Wedding Update

My ring is now officially on my finger. Yeah!!!

Brian and I met in Salem for dinner. What a wonderful evening. We had dinner at the Willamette Valley Grill. If you are ever in Salem be sure to stop there, what a great place to dine. Before dinner I gave Brian the box that contained my ring. (Since we had purchased it in Portland I had picked it up.) He asked me to marry him again and I enthusiastically said YES!!! And he then placed the ring on my finger. WOW! did it ever sparkle in the light of the restaurant. I couldn't stop looking at it all night.

Now it is more real then ever. And today I found out that the pastor we have asked to marry us in case our first choice isn't available said yes. So now we can officially reserve the date at the church. Now we just need to figure out the rest of the details like finding a dress, a photographer, flowers, invitations, cake.......etc etc etc

Ok the invitations are almost settled on along with the cake. Those were actually easy. I had seen a cake I liked in a magazine and then when I went into the first place that I was considering getting my cake from I opened up their brochure to find almost the same exact cake!!!

The dress is becoming a whole other issue. What a frustrating depressing processes. I have been told I will know when I find my dress, but I am starting to have my doubts. The "popular" style of dresses this year is strapless and I am sorry but that won't work for me. The funny thing is, I have yet to talk to a single person that would wear a strapless dress. But still that is what all the bridal stores are full of. And if they aren't strapless they have these really really long trains that only make the dress weight even more. I don't think I am being to unreasonable in what I am looking for, a simple, elegant, white dress that doesn't cost a fortune and will be comfortable to wear in July when it will most likely be a little warm. One option I am exploring is having a dress made......I have been given a couple of suggestions for seamstresses, one of which I have seen their work and it is amazing. I am going to check out a few more places before I decided for sure.

But all in all I am really getting excited. Last night after dinner Brian and I sat in the car and talked about the wedding, but more importantly our life after the wedding. I can't wait to spend my life with him. To share the joys and sorrows, the ups and downs. And above all knowing that every morning I will get to wake up next to this very special man.
